Managing Partners
21 Partners, led by Alessandro Benetton and Gérard Pluvinet, has built two free-standing but integrated local teams active in the French and Italian mid-markets, with an entrepreneurial spirit. The 29 professionals have specialized and complementary skills drawn from the industry, consulting and finance sectors and have completed, since 1988, over 70 investments.
The team is one of the most established and stable teams in Europe with a majority of the Managing Partners working together for more than 10 years.

Alessandro Benetton
Alessandro Benetton founded 21
Investimenti in 1992 and is a
pioneer in the Italian private
equity market. He is vice-chairman
and a member of the Executive Committee
of the Benetton Group, a director of
Edizione Holding (the Benetton family
holding company), a director of
Autogrill and a member of the Cofindustria
Committee in Italy. He is also a member of the Advisory
Committee of Robert Bosch International Beteiligungen.
He has served as a director of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro
and as president of the Benetton F1 Racing Team.
He began his career at Goldman Sachs after receiving a
Bachelor of Science in business administration from
Boston University. He holds an MBA from Harvard University.

Gérard Pluvinet
Gérard Pluvinet
Gérard Pluvinet founded 21
Centrale Partners, together with
Alessandro Benetton in 1998. Prior to
this he was the Managing Director and
Chairman of Société Centrale pour
l'Industrie which he joined in 1970.
During his time at Société Centrale
pour l'Industrie, Gérard Pluvinet
undertook a number of operational
roles in affiliated companies.
In particular, he acted as CFO of
L'Electronique Appliquée à
la Mécanique (1972-73), CEO of
Delachaux Niestlé Spes (1975-80),
CEO of Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche
des Minéraux Industriels (1979-86)
and CEO of Méribel Alpina (1982-94).
Gérard Pluvinet holds a Diplôme d'Etudes
Supérieures in Law and Economics and is a graduate
of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.
